Terborg (G): reformed church

The reformed church of Terborg originates from a medieval church built in the 15th and 16th centuries. However, there's nothing medieval about the church anymore. The old tower was destroyed by fire in 1723. In 1746 the current tower was built, designed  in Classical style by Gerrit Ravenschot. The old nave, built in 1409-1429, was replaced by the current neo-Classical nave in 1844. Only the Gothic choirm built in 1517, remains. However, in 1775 it was covered with plaster while its vaults and traceries were removed. In 1854 a portal and sacristy in early neo-Gothic style were added.
